Day 1: Arrival to Riga
Flight to Riga, the capital of Latvia. Upon arrival, meet your tour guide at Riga Airport and transfer to your centrally located hotel. Check in to the hotel, followed by time to relax and refresh. Enjoy dinner in the hotel restaurant, featuring local Latvian cuisine. Overnight stay in Riga.
Day 2: Sightseeing in Riga
After breakfast in the hotel restaurant, you will embark on a guided city tour of Riga, exploring magnificent Hanseatic houses, enchanting Art Nouveau buildings, medieval alleys, and numerous historic churches adorning the Old Town. A special feature of today’s program is an excursion to Riga Cathedral, where you will enjoy a concert showcasing its world-renowned organ- a masterpiece of Late Romanticism with rich acoustics that makes it one of the most celebrated historic organs in the Baltic states. Afterwards, experience Riga’s vibrant traditional farmer’s market, where you can sample local specialties. The afternoon offers free time for the group to explore the city independently. Day 3: Excursion in Jurmala - Performance in Riga
Start your day with breakfast in the hotel restaurant.
Today you’ll embark on an excursion to Jurmala, Latvia's famous seaside resort town known for its sandy beaches, charming wooden architecture, and picturesque pine forests. During your visit, you’ll explore some of Jurmala’s main sights, including the bustling Jomas Street, Dzintari Forest Park, and the serene shores along the Baltic Sea. In the afternoon, you will return to Riga for a choir rehearsal in preparation for the evening concert. This performance promises to be a highlight of your trip, giving your choir the chance to share your music with the local audience. Dinner in the hotel restaurant. Overnight stay in Riga.
Day 4: Gauja National Park
After breakfast, set out for a full-day excursion to the stunning Gauja National Park, known for its natural beauty, lush forests, and rich cultural heritage. Your first stop will be Gutman's Cave, the largest and oldest cave in the Baltics, famous for its ancient inscriptions and legends. Continue to Turaida, where you’ll visit the medieval Turaida Castle, perched on a hill with panoramic views of the Gauja River Valley. Next, head to the charming town of Sigulda, often referred to as the ''Switzerland of Latvia'' due to its scenic landscapes. Here, you can stroll through the historic center, take in the views of the valley, and explore the Sigulda Castle ruins, adding to the day’s memorable experiences. Return to Riga in the evening. A farewell dinner in the local restaurant. Overnight stay in Riga.
Day 5: Departure
Breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The time until departure is at your free disposal. Depending on the flight time, there is a possibility to attend Sunday Mass at the church. Transfer to the airport for your return flight.
