Trip programme:
Day 2: Klaipeda
Welcome to Klaipeda. After being greeted by your tour guide, you will be taken to your centrally located hotel. The way there already becomes a short, orientating city tour, which ends in front of your hotel. Check in at the hotel. Overnight stay in Klaipeda.
Day 3: Curonian Spit
Guided tour of the beautiful Curonian Spit, famous for its untouched nature with huge shifting sand dunes, fishermen's houses and endless sandy beaches. In the fishing village of Nida, you will visit the High Dune with its sundial, the Protestant church with its ethnographic cemetery and the famous Thomas Mann House. Hike through the Nagliai Nature Reserve with its villages buried under the sand and the unique beauty of the Dead Dunes. In the fishing village of Juodkrante, explore the cormorant colony, the old villa district of the former health resort and Amber Bay. Back to Klaipeda. Overnight stay.
Day 5: Excursion to Palanga and Kretinga
On this excursion, you will explore the spa and seaside resort of Palanga, which lies on the Baltic coast and is famous for its long promenade with a pier and the beautiful park and castle of Count Tyszkiewicz, which also houses the Amber Museum. During a walk through the town we will show you the oldest pharmacy in Lithuania, the countless old wooden houses and villas that made Palanga famous in the 17th century.
In the afternoon we continue our journey and visit the Franciscan monastery and church in the neighboring town of Kretinga. Coffee break in the manor house (17th century) of Count Chodkevicius, today a beautiful conservatory museum. Return to Klaipeda. Overnight stay.
